April Fools' Day: President Barack Obama Raises Taxes On Middle Class

According to a fake news story from Breitbart.com, President Obama today has violated his pledge to refrain from raising taxes on families earning less than $250,000 or individuals earning less than $200,000.

"I can make a firm pledge," he said in Dover, N.H., on Sept. 12. "Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes." He repeatedly vowed "you will not see any of your taxes increase one single dime."

Now in office, President Obama decided to crap on the hope & change in the hearts of Americans everywhere by raising the cigarette tax by $0.61. Every single pack of cigarettes will now include a $1.01 Federal fee, a tax that disproportionately affects the poor and middle class according to a recent Gallup survey.

The survey found that only 13% of Americans earning over $90,000 per year consider themselves smokers, a percentage which shrank as income grew. Compare this to the response of Americans earning between $9,000 and $12,000 who had a 34% likelihood of being a smoker.

All this from a President who himself only recently gave up smoking. For shame...

APRIL FOOLS! The joke is on you, America! This actually happened.
