My mom decided to trim the old household budget wherever possible, so instead of having a dress dry-cleaned she washed it by hand, etc. Proud of her savings and the job that she'd done, she boasted to my dad, "Just think, Tom, we are five dollars richer because I washed this dress by hand, etc." "Good", my dad, Tom, quickly replied. "Wash it again!"
